6. Passports are not available beyond five years from the date of issue. They may be renewed for any period from one to five years from the date of expiration provided that in no case shall the validity of a Passport be extended beyond ten years from the original date of issue. On the expiration of that period or, if at any time the space provided for visas is covered and the holder of a Passport wishes to travel to countries for which fresh visas are required, a new Passport must be taken out. The fee fer, each Passport is $5, and for each year of renewal $1. Applications for renewal must be made in the forms to be obtained upon application to the Passport Officer, Federated Malay States.
11. Any person who
(a) forges, alters or tampers with any Passport or endorsement thereon or without lawful authority uses or has in his possession any such forged, altered or irregular Passport or any Passport with any such forged, altered or irregular endorsement; or
(b) personates, or falsely represents himself to be or not to be a person to whom such a Passport or such a Passport with such an endorsement has been duly issued, or, with intent to obtain any such Passport or such endorsement thereon, knowingly makes any false statement; or
(c) allows any other person to have possession of any such Passport issued for his use alone, or without lawful authority has in his possession any such Passport issued for the use of some person other than himself,
is guilty of an offence punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or to a fine not exceeding eight hundred and fifty dollars or to both.
