Malaysia : Birth Certificate (1983)

In Malaysia, birth certificate is very important to establish the citizenship status for a person of 12-year-old and below. This document also provide information regarding biological parents (for registered marriage), date and place of birth.

As the public education for primary school for citizen is given for free, therefore birth certificate must be presented to the school of enrolment.

When a child attain the age of 12, he/she must go to the National Registration Department (NRD) to be properly photographed and being issued a proper MyKAD - Malaysian Identity Card.
