Russia's 2018 FIFA World Cup FAN ID
A FAN ID is a document that all the spectators of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ matches must have to get the access to the stadiums. A FAN ID is a small laminated form containing the personal data of its holder. Fan ID and ticket are needed to get into a stadium.
A FAN ID is required for the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ spectators in order to access the stadium and ensure a comfortable stay at the match venue. A FAN ID entitles its holder to free travel in the host cities on match days.
Fan ID operates in lieu of a visa. In case a FAN ID is used as an entry/exit document for the 2018 FIFA World Cup™, the foreign citizen’s passport must be valid as of the moment of entry and for the duration of stay in the Russian Federation.
Foreign spectators can enter and leave the territory of the Russian Federation visa-free multiple times with a FAN ID either in the laminated form or in electronic format if they have valid documents of identification that are recognized as such by the Russian Federation (Рassport). Multiple entry is possible from 00:00 June 4 to 23:59 July 15, 2018 (local time of arrival). Multiple exit is possible from 00:00 June 4 to 23:59 July 25, 2018 (local time of departure).
FAN ID holders entering the Russian Federation territory in the period from the 4th of June to the 15th of July and exiting the Russian Federation territory from the 4th of June to the 25th of July 2018 have the right of visa-free transit through the territory of the Republic of Belarus with FAN ID both on a laminated form and in electronic form and a valid identity document (passport) in the period from the 4th of June to the 25th of July 2018.
PURPOSE
A FAN ID is valid for the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ matches attending for the whole period of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ holding.
The matches will take place in 11 of the best and most beautiful Russian cities: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Sochi, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg, Saransk, Volgograd, and Rostov-on-Don.
BENEFIT
The FAN ID also acts as a transport pass as well as a Russian visa. The FAN ID will allow holders to use certain public transport services, including inner-city trains, for free. There will also be free train services between the host cities.
POST TOURNAMENT
After the award ceremony, Preisident Putin announced that foreign fans who currently have fan IDs will receive multi-entry, visa-free travel until the end of the year (2018). Such IDs were issued to all supporters with match tickets.
